Seasonal Health and Wellness: Free Class Series

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a seasonal medicine.  What does that mean?  It means that the way we treat our bodies, both at home and in the clinic, changes according to the seasons.  Why?  Because our bodies change according to the seasons.

The ancient Chinese believed that humans are a microcosm of the macrocosm of Nature. Traditional Chinese Medicine treats people as such and indeed we can see clinically that certain symptom patterns show up much more prevalently during certain seasons.  We can use this information to guide our own choices at home, thereby harmonizing ourselves with the seasonal cycles, keeping us healthy throughout the year.

Though TCM is quite complex when practiced at the level of physician, it is equally simple and intuitive when it comes to self-care!  With an introduction to basic philosophy, some tips on lifestyle choices, and knowledge of the common pitfalls of each season, we can each take on a more central role in our own healthcare and that of our families.

Our Seasonal Health & Wellness Class Series is designed to give you that information!

We will start with Summer and hold a class at the beginning of each new season.  We will talk about the nature of each season from the perspective of TCM, the common health problems associated with each season, and things you can do at home to better your chances of avoiding those health problems.  These classes will offer a wealth of information that will be immediately useful at home.  More importantly, you will start to build an awareness that will serve you for years to come.
